Facebook Fan Pages and the SSL Deadline
Tumblr is great for spreading content so I thought this would be a smart place to post about this.
If you have a facebook fan page and a welcome page or gated content this info could save you from having your page set as private, leaving your fans to wonder if you dropped off the planet.
On October 1st Facebook is going to require all custom apps to have a secure page associated - which means you will not only have to change the settings in facebook, you will also need to have SSL or shared SSL set up for your site.
Worse still, if you fail to update in time instead of simply disabling that app they are going to set the whole fanpage as private.

The welcome page is the custom banner that shows up to non fans and the gated content example would be the facebook comics, which are only visible through facebook.
